|
It gives me immense pleasure to
welcome our dear members of the FIBA Asia family to an
interesting and exciting FIBA Asia calendar 2011. |
|
|
|
The FIBA Asia calendar 2011
could not have got to a better start than with an event in
the Philippines, where basketball is almost a religion. |
| |
|
The 22nd FIBA Asia Champions
Cup in Manila brings together the best 10 club teams in FIBA
Asia. |
| |
|
I expect the competition and
performance of the teams to be as high and excellent as it
has always been in the past FIBA Asia Champions Cup
competitions. |
| |
|
And of course, there is an
added incentive for all the teams to play in front of the
large and passionate fans at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig
City. |
| |
|
It is six years since Philippines hosted a FIBA Asia event
and I welcome back them to our family of host cities. |
| |
|
I am sure the basketball fans of Philippines are waiting
with bated breath for the 22nd FIBA Asia Champions Cup to
tip off. So are we. |
| |
|
We have seen Philippines working very hard in the recent
past in order to prove themselves in FIBA Asia events. |
| |
|
We are aware of the challenges they face and we assure our
support for the SBP. |
| |
| On behalf of FIBA Asia and the
participating teams, I assure that the fans in Philippines
can expect and will be provided a great feast of basketball
at the 22nd FIBA Asia Champions Cup. |
| |
| Good Luck to all the teams! |
