The first event of every FIBA
Asia calendar is always exciting. And when a country like
Philippines hosts the first event of the 2011 FIBA Asia
calendar we are excited that many times more. |
|
|
|
The passion and fervor with which basketball is followed in
the Philippines needs no elaboration. |
| |
|
We at FIBA Asia are really looking forward to a great event. |
| |
|
I expect the 22nd FIBA Asia Champions Cup will herald the
next step in competition for clubs in FIBA Asia. |
| |
|
FIBA Asia clubs have shown remarkable growth in recent times
in terms of achieving professionalism in their approach in
all aspects. And I am sure we will witness that they have
reached the next higher level this year. |
| |
|
Personally for me, it is indeed a pleasure to witness a FIBA
Asia event being held in a SEABA nation, which is very close
to my heart. |
| |
|
Philippines has shown very encouraging signs in the recent
past in upgrading their system of play to excel in FIBA Asia
events. I heartily wish them more success in all their
endeavors. |
| |
| On behalf of FIBA Asia, I thank the SBP for
coming forward to hosting the 22nd FIBA Asia Champions Cup. |
| |
| Needless to mention, FIBA Asia assures all
the necessary support to the SBP and the LOC for the
successful hosting of the event. |
| |
| And I am sure the LOC will no stone
unturned to see that the event turns out to be a memorable
one. |
| |
|
Thank you and “Peace Through Basketball” |
